Later we also simulated the old Bangkok Kai Tak airfield. I never liked flight simulators too much, but this was really a great experience, of course, what I did was far away from what a real pilot has to do, there are so much controls and displays in the airplane that I don’t know how to use. But still the feeling was probably quite close to the real feeling of flying a Boeing MD 83. I think for the first simulated flight I did quite well, I guess after some training I could probably handle the aircraft pretty good. After we left the simulator a hostess showed us around at the Swiss aviation training center, she basically showed us the training places of the hostess staff. After the presentation she said that all the pilots are a bit “special”. Hmm, I tought, maybe I am a bit “special” too, but no pilot. Damn it!
